About

Hi! I’m Yazmine.

Originally from Ireland, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Professional Writing & Editing and Public Relations from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. As part of my studies, I spent a semester abroad at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

While I’ve previously worked as a writer for Australian publications Mornington Peninsula Magazine and Frankly Frankston, and in marketing positions in both Ireland and the U.S., I am now the Content Lead of a creative agency in New York City.

In 2018, I co-founded the politics and pop-culture podcast Different Things Can Be Sad with my Canadian pal Majka Hahn. We’ve been releasing monthly episodes ever since, covering topics as diverse as the Istanbul Convention and a potential Braniston reunion. You can find our back catalog here (but not here).

When I’m not in the office or chatting with Majka, you can find me re-reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series on my Kobo, listening to the Twilight soundtrack, and crocheting a temperature blanket.
